A DAY WITH RYUICHI SAKAMOTO (Clear)
Kazunali TAJIMA
(...) After Mr. Sakamoto passed away, I was in a state of shock for quite some time. I purchased a book that documented his last days, but I have yet to open it. Receiving a request from his office asking for any good pictures of him, I revisited old positive and negative film rolls. While going through them, I came across the photos from our shoot in New York. As I looked at them again, the words Sakamoto spoke that day and the sight of him playfully posing returned vividly to my memory one after another. I recalled that summer day when, he patiently joined me for the shoot with his sweat soaking gray T-shirt. I felt a renewed sense of gratitude toward him.
I hope that those who know Sakamoto, as well as those who do not, enjoy this photo book. It captures the one day in the life of this charming artist. If possible, while listening to his music.
