Akio Nagasawa Gallery Aoyama is pleased to present Rebirth, a solo exhibition of Hiroki Taniguchi.
Hiroki Taniguchi is an artist who worked mainly on painting but across genres such as illustration and graphic design.
Unfortunately, he passed away in 2021. Death for an artist, in addition to a physical end, implies the time when one's works are no longer distributed in society.
Suggesting from the title, this exhibition aims to introduce a new aspect of Taniguchi's work by presenting his remaining works from the early 1980s until his death.

1957年神奈川県生まれ。
1983年東京藝術大学大学院美術研究科修了。日本橋高島屋宣 伝部（現在ATA）を経て、1985年bise inc.を設立。
絵画の視点を核に据え、イラストレーションやグラフィックデザインを中心にジャンルを超え精力的に活動する。
長野オリンピック開・閉会式プログラム、無印良品などを筆頭に扇や手拭、風呂敷といった和のテイストも多く手がける。神谷町光明寺本堂の壁画も手がける。
イベントやグループ展にも多数参加し、デザイン系のギャラリーをはじめ、2000年よりシロタ画廊やコバヤシ画廊など絵画系のギャラリーにおいても発表を続けている。東京工芸大学教授も務める。2021年に逝去。
